Every plastic surgeon or a person interested in aesthetic medicine in Poland has already got to know the Body Jet. What is the secret of this revolutionary appliance that reduces fat so effectively? Uniqueness of the Body Jet comes from the revolutionary method of fat reduction called WAL (water-jet assisted liposuction). It has been used in aesthetic medicine for the first time and it is based on leaching fat out of the body using a special water solution. How does it work, how does the water solution deal with fat? During the surgery, a narrow cannula is inserted into the fat tissue through a tiny cut made in a patient’s skin. Throught this cannula, the water solution stream is injected into intercellular space where it loosens its structure without destroying such fibrous structures as connective tissue, nerves, or blood vessels. The stream’s power is comparable to a strong shower water stream so it does not harm the tissues in any way. It also does not cause swelling and haematomas. During the infiltration, only gentle moves are made thanks to which the cannula glides through the tissue and releases adiopocytes - fat cells that are to be removed. What happens to the fat next? How is it removed from the area involved in the surgery? Having accomplished its goal, the water solution is removed from the body along with the excessive fat. They are removed from the body by the cannula through which the water solution got into the body before. The water solution does not stay inside the body. Simultaneousness of injecting and removing the water solution is crucial if we want to provide the highest standard of the treatment. Does the treatment require a general anaesthesia? No, it does not. The treatment carried out using the Body Jet appliance requires only a local anaesthesia. Thanks to that a patient can communicate with their doctor during the whole procedure. The anaesthietic is given in the area that is involved in the treatment. The most innovative aspect of the Body Jet is that it joins the processes of infiltration and sucking out the fat with the process of giving an anaesthetic. In order to achieve the highest level of anaesthesia, giving of the drugs is divided into two phases. The first phase is called preinfiltration. It results in a quick anaesthesia as well as in narrowing of the blood vessels surrounding the area that is being treated. The preinfiltration makes the treatment nearly painless in most of the cases. Moreover, the liquid that is used in the second phase of the Body Jet treatment, in sucking the fat out, contains additional substances that lengthen and intensify the anaesthetic effect during and after the treatment. A local anaesthesia is not only safer for a patient but also it makes the treatment easier for a surgeon to carry out… That is perfectly true. It is also very important when it comes to the precision of the treatment. A lack of swelling is the aspect that makes this way of fat reduction different from other ways. If a body is not swollen, you can clearly see its outline, which allows you to be more precise. What is more, you can control the results of the treatment systematically. Another crucial thing is that you can communicate with a patient all the time, as they do not lose their natural defense ability. But that is not all. You can even ask your patient to stand up to show you how the silhouette has been formed so far. A vertical posture combined with the gravity will always show you the real outcome of your work. What are the results that we can expect thanks to the WAL method? Compared with some other ways of fat reduction, the WAL method is far more effective in terms of quality and quantity of the fat that is sucked out. During only one Body Jet treatment it is possible to remove 5 litres of fat per 100 kilos of a body weight. These norms are not limited by the appliance’s capabilities, but by the limitations set by an individual human being. The amount of fat that is sucked out should not violate any of the natural processes and the natural balance of the human body. When it comes to those patients who do not suffer from being overweight, or are slightly overweight, sucking out 6 areas is not a problem. What it means is that the lower and upper part of the stomach, the hips and the waist can be sucked out during one treatment. The same situation is with both sides of the thighs, calves, and knees. Compared to the classic liposuction, what are the advantages of the Body Jet treatment? The Body Jet treatment is the most delicate way of fat reduction. Not only has the time of the treatment and recovery after it shortened, but also the unpleasant ailments have been erased. The treatment is carried out according to the rule called walk-in-walk-out. What does it mean? Patients do not need to be hospitalized. Their physical and mental state during and after the treatment is very good and thanks to that they can go back home right after it. Is it possible that a person enters a clinic overweight and leaves it 5 liters of fat lighter? Exactly. What about the first days after the treatment? How do patients feel, and when can they go back to their everyday activities? During the period shortly after the treatment it is necessary to use an absorbent dressing and pressure clothing. Thanks to those items swelling and haematomas do not appear, and also the tissues are stimulated to heal over faster. But still, it does not create any kind of physical discomfort for patients who can go back to their normal life straight away (it varies from one to three days, depending on an individual case). Performing physical exercises is allowed if a patient do not feel any pain or discomfort any more. How do you prepare your patients for the treatment? Are there any specific tests required from those patients who would like to undergo the Body Jet treatment? The procedure is quite standard. Due to the fact that the Body Jet treatment requires only local anaesthesia, our patients are allowed to eat and drink to avoid dehydration. The tests that has to be done before the treatment are blood tests like morphology and coagulability, as well as the cardiac, blood circulation, and respiratory system tests. What are the contradictions against the treatment? These are diabetes, blood coagulability disorders, heart diseases, a renal or a hepatic failure, and inflammatory conditions. Is it true that the Body Jet opens a new chapter in silhouette toning? In my opinion the answer is yes. Thanks to the technological advancement of the Body Jet we come across another advantage of the appliance, and another possibility given by it. The thing is that when we combine the BEULI method with the WAL method we become able to get undamaged fat cells that can be used in reimplantation, that is in breast enlargement, breast reconstruction after mastectomy, and other surgeries like for instance removing defects after accidents. The fat that we get from human body is the safest and the most natural filler. What is so innovative about this solution? The fat that we get from the Body Jet treatment is undamaged and characterized by overall high quality. Such material guarantees us that a body part that we tone will stay in the shape that we have given it for a long time. Is it possible to carry out a reimplantation surgery and a liposuction at the same time? Yes, such a combination is possible and it happens very frequently that those two surgeries are carried out together. The fat that is sucked out by the Body Jet appliance goes to a special container called lipolector. There, it is filtered in order to select the fat of the highest quality. From the lipolector, the fat goes into a place of toning through a narrow cannula. The fat of such high quality is the best filler as it does not absorb into the body and it stabilizes very well with other tissues. After about six months from the first surgery it should be repeated in order to keep the results as long as it is possible. Source: "VIERDEM, vademecum zdrowia od juniora do seniora" |
